Alishan Forest Recreation Area
A branch range of the Yushan Mountain Range, Alishan consists of eighteen connected high mountains, overlooking the Main Peak of the Yushan Mountain Range across Tongfu River. The most famous sceneries in Alishan include sunrise, sea of clouds, sunset glow, forests and mountain railway, which are known as the five wonders. The best season for sea of clouds and sunset glow viewing is autumn and the best spots are Erwan Ping, Ciyun Temple, Alishan Railway Station, Zhaoping Park, Chushan Sunrise Watching Spot, and the first parking lot. The best spot for sunrise viewing is Chushan Sunrise Watching Spot.
